Does anyone know how this could happen.
Overnight a new drive appeared. Its called E drive and has pushed the
existing drives up one letter.
It cant be accessed and its properties are zero size and zero free space.

i am using windows 98, and am trying to add more memory to my pc. my
motherboard is an asus a7v333-x and im using an amd duron 1.2ghz on it. i was
using a 256mb pc2100 module, but wanted to upgrade to my boards max ram of
2gb. so i am trying to use two 1gb pc2700 333mhz modules ...

the startup Username and Password prompts. How do I do this?

I have Win 98 SE.  I attached a new USB keyboard and followed the
instructions to insert the Windows 98 installation disk, but I got error
messages that the following files could not be found:
hidclass.sys

I accidentally deleted the audio driver or device while in device manager.
When I let Windows re-install it, I get a clicking noise over the audio of
almost all audio sources until I click on the taskbar, then the noise is
gone and the audio is normal.

I no longer get the sounds that I used to get such as when Windows
boots up.  This also applies to  programs such as Quicken which give a
cash register sound when entering a check. My sound card is OK because
when I go to Windows>Media and click on the sound, it plays in

I have just migrated from 98se to XP wher I was using YDEC
ps/2 mouse only works in safe mode, not normal mode30 May 2005 17:56 GMT3
I can only use my ps/2 mouse in safe mode. It does not work in Normal mode
at all. I'm running Windows 98 and up until  a few weeks ago, the mouse
worked fine in Normal mode. I reloaded the mouse drivers but that hasn't
fixed the problem. I bought another ps/2 mouse, installed ...
