Using Win98SE.
My 2 CD's show in the grid displayed by the Bios before dos starts,
and there is a "Multimedia Device", I think it is called, listed in
the table that follows that, also before DOS starts.  The lights on

H'lo, I know this has probably been discussed before but I didn't get

suggests, I want to buy a 160 gigger from Maxtor at Staples this week
and add it as I do a lot of recording and save some large files from

When re-booting my desktop, I get the windows 98 logo, but the icons don't
display and the system stalls.  No processing lights on the cpu.  Any idea
what the problem might be or how I can check to see what the problem is?

PS Guard kept appearing and scaning. I have tried removing and uninstall it.
But It kept appearing almost everyday. How do I prevent this once and for
all??

Will a wireless intellimouse explorer work with win 98se

I don't want install this Network Card in the winter months, it is safest to do
this in the summer months. I may Network this Winter, but I don't know yet. I
heard somewhere that it is wrong to have a Network Card installed if you aren't
going to use it. I plan to use it.... ...

Is the a way the change the format of the Windows address Book.  I would
like the 'Company' name to show up in the listing from 'Select Name' it only
appears the pull the contacts name is alphabetically order, by first name.

upgraded the Win 95 OS of the previous owner to (my own copy of) Win 9
SE, but the OS registration still appears in the name of the previou

One day it "lost" the sound card.  I re-installed it, and went through

After repair the computer shop people installed windows 98.
When the computer is started, it prompts for user Name and password.
There is no password, the user name is only there and click ok, it start
normal.
