I am having a problem with my laptop.
I was using my laptop then I shut it down after finishing my work.
When I started it the next time it wouldn't start !
It would stop at win98 SE  logo and that is it!

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 98 and the reinstall process won't accept my
product key.  I enter the exact key from my CD case and it doesn't work.

My reinstall of Win98 and all patches brought to life those pesky
floaters containing a combination of "save", "print", "email" and
"folder?" icons/buttons whenever you roll the cursor over an image.

First I should probably explain the situation.
I'm running two hard drives on this machine, an 80 GB (primary) and a 40 GB.
The primary drive has an approximately 24MB boot partition that I use for
dual-booting Windows XP Home Edition and Windows 98 SE from.

Since you are the only MS MVP that I've noticed is replying to messages
in this newsgroup, I'd be very grateful if you were to read my postings and
what others have said in the threads.  Do you have any ideas about this?
