I am having a problem with my laptop. I was using my laptop then I shut it down after finishing my work. When I started it the next time it wouldn't start ! It would stop at win98 SE logo and that is it!

---Please note also posted in Outlook Express General -- Anyone foresee any problems upgrading to XP Pro from 98. My friend uses Outlook Express, and would like to keep settings/E-mails/Addresses etc.

After booting and about the middle of scan, this message appears: ScanDisk detected an invalid long filename entry on this drive but was unable to fix it. To fix this problem run Scandisk for Windows. After OK, ScanDisk continues and completes scanning.

First I should probably explain the situation. I'm running two hard drives on this machine, an 80 GB (primary) and a 40 GB. The primary drive has an approximately 24MB boot partition that I use for dual-booting Windows XP Home Edition and Windows 98 SE from.
