Trying to set up xp on my slave drive with win 98 on the master.
Boot the xp install disk from the dvd drive.  Occasionally it drops out at

I got out my old IBM Aptiva (400mhz K6-2, 8gig HD, 96mb ram) to give to my
father and I loaded the IBM restart disk to do a fresh re-install of Windows
98.
During the process, there was an error and it restarted.

I had advice from someone to turn off the background system scan to make
computer go faster.  Did you mean on McAfee or Windows 98.  How do I turn it
off. I am working on my elderly neighbours computer and it is very slow.
