Hello.  I'm posting this in the Win98 forum because I think this is more of
an OS issue I'm having, not a Internet Explorer problem (I may be wrong
however).  
What's happening is after the computer starts, I can access the web for

Soundblaster Live
The sound drivers are all loaded, and say that they are working properly.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multimedia drivers through windows setup,

I recently installed AOL 7.0, and I also have IE 6.0. When I log on to
AOL, for like two minutes, the regular internet explorer works just
fine, but then it stops connecting, and I can only use the explorer
within the AOL browser. is there any way around this so I can use the

My "Temporary Internet Files" folder has started to accumulate huge numbers
of files, most of which I don't recognise.
Yesterday there were 1105 files.  I deleted them.
Today there are 1118 files.

I've been struggling with Windows 98 reinstall problems today and the current
nightmare is a prompt stating "A required .DLL file, MSVCP71.DLL was not
found".  Shortly after this prompt appears the Windows 98 reinstall process
stops.

My friend has an external address book he cant live without, but the software
will not run under WinXP even in compatibility mode though it worked under
his old Win98.
He has a Dell 4700C which can boot from a USB device and he has a Western

1)  My Nero Express always burns my C: drive files (which are NOT "read
only" when I look at their properties) to my CD-RW as "read only" - which
prevents me from renaming, modifying or deleting files directly off my CD-RW.
