I am moving from win98 to win XP. On both computers I have Office 2000
installed.
I know that on win98 and MO2000 the outlook data (contacts, emails etc.) has
been stored in outlook.pst file but now I do not know where and how to put

All user application programs are shut down.  Then, when I do Ctrl+Alt+Del
the "Close Program" window pops up.  There are 22 programs on it's list.  I
have found instructions to load 17 of them under the Msconfig startup tab.  
Where are the instructions to load the other 5 ...

I need a private free mail server that has smtp and pop3 for my
computer. Does anybody know a good free program?

During the boot up process, my PC makes it past the windows 98 screen,
then I get the following error message:
explorer.exe at 177.00401F31.
This error occurs in both normal and safe mode.  I get two options -

I've got a strange problem since a couple of hours. When I check the start
button, none of the shortcut appearing in the list are active (for example
programs). Not even the shutdown shortcut (I currently shut down through the
task manager, closing Explorer).

I have never had a problem installing software before but I have bought an
MP3 player and the software won't install directly from the disk so have
tried to put it on via the Start-Run- (either) D:\ or Q:\ SETUP.EXE & in both
cases the message comes up saying that the components ...

     Does anyone know how to bypass the registration number that windows 98
asks for when my computer starts up?             If I do not give it the
number that was on the original 98 disc which I now do not have nor do I have
the number for it............then the computer shuts ...

I was looking through saved data files to gather requirements for a new custom
computer. It will run W98SE, needs to be capable of later running either W2000 or
XP Home.
My use is primarily internet, text editing, simple photo editing, playing old

...because MSOE.DLL could not be loaded.  what is the solution here??  can i
just download this .dll file to the outlook express folder or is there more
that needs to be done??  please help!!

The following problem occured immediately after the final reboot after
installing a network setup disk from an XP MC computer to the Win98SE unit. I
can only boot in dos mode (safe mode will  not run).
I will preface problem by adding that I have tried all fixes posted in

   I have a windows 98 and do not have the disc anymore.....My computer is
asking for the registration number and when I cannot give it...my computer
shuts off.  How can I bypass this and get back into my computer?

When I start 98SE it gets to the spot where my password goes and freezes up.
Nothing works....mouse, keyboard etc.
I can get into safe mode if that helps.
How can I bypass the sign in window so it goes right to the desktop?
