I am using Win98 First Edition. The IDE hard drive controller is the Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller. Will this controller control both IDE and EIDE hard drives? What is the maximum size (GB) IDE and / or EIDE hard drives that it will control?

I use a simple boot diskette which includes the two system files and a few DOS utilities like Fdisk, Format, etc. I also use a floppy to run Diskedit and sometimes Ghost. It would be convenient to have a functioning mouse for these other programs.

I may be in the wrong topics forum for this question. While cleaning up a friend's Compaq Presario 5070, I wrote a note using notepad; the keyboard letters worked fine but the special characters did not. ie: left square bracket gave me a double circumflex accent instead ( [ = ^^
