Just curious to know why it is so difficult to purge a system with Norton

Greetings from a newbie.
On a Dell P3, 500 MHZ, 384MEG, backed up, wiped clean, reinstalled 98
everything ok except, USB ports don't work, thus printer and USB mous
don't work. Looking at control panel, have yellow question mark for:
Bios says only floppy is "A" but Win98se says floppy is "B"31 Jan 2006 09:31 GMT2
I notice that Win98 cannot see the only floppy as drive "A" but insists
that is drive "B" although the bios only sees "A". I have temporarilly
"worked around" this by changing the label of a shortcut aimed at "B"
to "A". Any better solution?

Puter was working fine until I purchased new HP 3940 printer and loaded its

what do I need to do? I have the WinXP Home CD. Do I have to clear or make
another partition on my 120GB Maxtor HDD before I try it or will the WinXP Home
CD do it for me?
