I just wanted to say even though I might rant about MS and their seemingly non-concern about the Home PC user. MS did not have to make available the "Windows Update Catalog" at the update site.

I am installing a US Robotics Modem and using Windows98 SE. The Modem must be installed on Com Port 5 according to the manufacturer. Where the Com Port selection would be made, there is only 1 offered (Com 1). I need to select Com 5, but it is not available.

i am running win98se on a compaq presario 7471. since 98 does not support wmp10, i am forced to use wmp9, which i am not too familiar with, but familiar enough to see that there is no built-in cd burning software included with 9 series.

I have a Windows 98 machine that I suspect that the video card is broken. It is an AGP x 4 ASUS video card. A friend of mine gets a second hand AGP x 2 video card and I would like to know whether the slots on my machine can fit the AGP x 2 card or not ?

...it's going to have a Windows platform stuffed into it soon ! i.e. that's the tenuously flimsy excuse for asking a hardware based question in here :-) ... the reason being that all the best brains are in here, (...here's hoping that flattery will get me everywhere) ! :-)

i have win 98se and outlook exprees 6. i receive e mail with an images just fine but when i forward them the recipient only recieves the text and where tihe image is only shows a box with an x in it.
