I have an old computer with Windows 98 Standard Edition. When I execute
WUPDMGR.EXE (Windows Update from Start menu), Internet Explorer loads this
wrong URL:
www.microsoft.com/windows/isapi/redir.dll
autoexec.dos and config.dos appear in C:\ after upgrade05 Feb 2006 10:32 GMT9
Having looked at some of the search hits these files are safe to be deleted
but my question is why did they appear after upgrading this os from Win 98
to Win98se. I asked that the previous operating system be backed up during
the install in case of problems. None has happened, so I ...

Me":

Somehow an unwanted toolbar has been added to Internet Explorer, it has a
'Remover toolbar' button but when clicked random webpages are pulled up.
When I right click on the toolbar , the name of the toolbar is not in the
list and toolbar is locked and I can't remove any toolbars. ...

   I am using win98se as my operating system, recently I tried to
connect another hard disk as secondary but it gave an error "boot

I posted my brother a dvd with 4 episodes of a t.v. serial on it,
Episode1 was an *.mpg which played fine on his W98se computer, episodes 2,3
and 4 are *.avi's that will not play on his PC.
On my PC G-Spot tells me the latter three *.avi episodes are Xvid, and

I am interested in a new pc where it is in the sales info that Windows
XP is preloaded to save time setting up. This pretty useless advantage
seems to be accompanied by serious problems if a crash necessitates
reinstalling XP. How is this arranged with such a machine?
