I try to do a scan disk on my hard drive 3/4 year old but it make a
verification of the FAT and stop after few second by scaning the files

Having installed mmc v1.2 on my 98 SE machine, I can't load certmgr.msc.  
When I try, I get the error "snap-in failed to initialize".  If I open mmc
first and try to add the snap-in manually, certmgr does not appear on the
avaliable list.

Moved from Aopen motherboard 845 chipset to Gigabyte 865 chipset.  Cpus same
speed, old one Celeron, the new one is Pentium.  In researching moving all,
advice gotten was that just doing a repair install with XP would do the job,
if not, clean install.

Howdy: I'm having trouble keeping my folder in the two-pane explorer
type window. My Computer, My Documents and Recycle Bin all are in the
two-pane format, but when I open any other folder that I have on my
desktop, they open in the single window style.

Rather than print out every web page,  I'm saving trees and saving web
pages to desktop for later viewing and/or deletion. The problem is that

My sister, a very novice user, has Win98 SE PC.
Problem Write.EXE does not work.  I know it is suppose to launch Win98
WordPad and we can list the WordPad files.  The list does _not_ contain a
WordPad.EXE but the system does have Write.EXE but opening this executable

My display is so LARGE that even removing the taskbar at the bottom of the
desktop does not allow me to find the 'OK' button to, for instance, accept
changes to the resolution. How else can I say 'OK' besides clicking...is
there an F key or something. My boss has very poor vision ...
