how to increase local disk capacity from C: to D:? thanks

This is a followup to my post of 3/17/06 "Windows Update Fails"
I have gone though the steps in MS Article 319585 many times, refreshing my
Active X controls. Security settings were all tried, from Medium down to Low
and even enabled ActiveX separately.

I've got to install Windows 98SE on an existing Windows XP computer for compatibility
with some old program. Problem is, I know that this will overwrite the XP boot for the
older 98SE OS.
What is the safe way to do this?

I recently purchased a second hand Compaq Armada 7800 notebook running
Windows 98 Second Edition 4.10.2222 A.  I am a fulltime student and use
the notebook for downloading lectures from my voice recorder (Panasonic
RR-US050) on a USB port.

After a recent fresh install of W98SE, now I see upon cold boot, the bios screen and

Whenever I shutdown Windows98 SE  it freezes with the screen showing the
Windows98 shutdown screen and the message "Windows is shutting down"
Rarely does it fully shut the PC down.
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue

I noticed the following problem in all of the VB, VBA or VBScript.

I have been trying to track down why a friends old pc won't shut down in
Windows 98 SE for two days.
I have tried almost everything in Microsoft's Knowledgebase sheets 202633 &
238096 to no avail.

After long work on - WIN98 -  (USB ADSL ALE 130) my PC will  stuck on shut
down (black screen).
I'm verifing this (my modem) issue after verifing a long list of other
