Plenty of "RE:blablabla" posts appear in this newsgroup, but I'm not seeing
or getting the downloaded OP's posts.
I've cleared the entire w98gendisc.dbx - removed / deleted / re-set - and
re-downloaded (1000 at a time). Same thing happens.

My husband has Win98.  The notification popped up about critical updates, so
I chose the "Preview".  But nothing opened.  So then I went to Windows
Update from the Start button and clicked on it.  Again, nothing happened.
How should we go about getting those updates?  Any reason ...

I changed my ISP. I now am using a DSL connection. Because my husband

Weird problem.  My laptop is booting up with High Contast w/Large
Fonts as the display scheme.  I will set it to Windows Standard.  I
reboot, it's fine. I reboot again, it's fine. I reboot a third time
