I have Pentium III, 450 MHz, 128 MB (upgraded from 64) RAM PC. Recently I installed a DSL modem for the high speed. From that point on, the system is bit slow and erratic. Couple of days before when I started up the PC, I get a blue screen that says "fatal exception 06 at xxx:xxx.."

Alright folks well I have a 98 machine at work and everything works great except for anything that has to go out to the internet. All teh DNS and gateway info is correct in the IP configuration but if i open IE it hangs for about 2 minutes then loads the page and will work fine

I posted this issue here May 5 and got a reply, but cannot continue on that thread now. My system has exhibited many problems in recent weeks. The blue screen that says "Program has performed an illegal operation" or "fatal flaw" or similar

Before updating to the Cumulative Security Update for IE Service Pack 1 (KB912812), I decided to save the update to disk. I then proceeded to do the online update, however it only took a couple minutes to d/l and install it.

I have little computer knowledge and this may be a trivial problem. However, I have windows 98SE on my laptop and have been trying to install a 2.0 portable flash drive. I have had a 1.1 flash drive installed in the past and that is what my system is compatible for.
