My Win98 machine has begun to take an extremely long time to start up.
(Nearly ten minutes until disk activity ceases.)  It almost seems like
a full disk scan is happening at each start up.

I did a fresh install of windows onto a blank drive from the
insallation disk and I have a couple of questions.
1. There were no .dll files in the system directory however
