According to this article, Microsoft has extended legacy support and
removed the cap under the Custom Support Agreement for how long it will
support legacy software.  This includes XP SP1, NT4 and Exchange 5.5.
Unfortunately 98, 98SE and ME are not covered under this agreement so ...

I recently inherited a W98 computer and it is inundated with popups, adware,
and a trojan or two that my virus program (eTrust Antivirus) can't get rid
of. There is nothing (programs, files, etc.) of any importance on this

Have an older Dell with small hard drive and plan to install a 2nd,
larger HD for file storage and leave the OS and programs right where they

The problem i have completely blocks my computer. when i start up, the
computer says 'non system disk, replace disk and press anykey' thing is,
