I have been trying to run scandisk and defrag on my computer but neither of
them are able to complete or even make much progress at all. With scandisk i
keep getting the error message that it has restarted more than 10 times.

and I have no internet connection on that machine to update the Roxio product
that was just installed.
I did test runs with EZCD Creator and I can burn at 16X to 24X speed without the
drive slowing down to 1X during burning (it's supposed to be a 52X drive). I

Ever since I installed an external CD/DVD drive, my PC takes an age to boot,
appearing to hang for a couple of minutes before springing into life. If I
disconnect the drive it boots at normal speed again. Is there any way around
this?

"LPT1".  Of course the parallel port printer does not work.  How do I restore

A win98 2nd Ed system was freezing up when several programs were opened so I
added more Ram.  It had 64Mb; now 320Mb.
Then I was going to boot iun safe mode to run scandisk, but when the menu

My wife has a P2, running Win 98 SE, with 458MB of RAM. She  uses a
Lexmark 6250 series All in One Printer/Copier/Scanner for emailing
photos of the grandkids. Everything has been working fine until
recently, when the scanner portion of the All In One stopped working.
