I have a newly installed Windows 98 SE laptop (Sony VAIO) and just installed a Netgear MA521 PCMCIA wireless card. The netgear utility sees wireless access point and apparently connects. I even get a valid IP address. But just can't connect. Can't ping router.

In Win98SE when you brought up Device Manager, there was a "Refresh" button for when you powered up a device after your computer was on. In WinXP there is no such "Refresh" button in Device Manager. Is there something similar in WinXP that refreshes the OS to know you
