Thought at first this was a MacAfee update problem but seems now it's more generic. After any install or update that request PC is restarted the PC boots and starts to load Windows but instead shuts off part way through.

It's my understanding that Wndows98SE has reached its End of Lifecycle Support. I have an isolated computer being used for game programs only (no Internet connectivity necessary). Will Microsoft make a "final" update CD or ISO image available for Windows

Everytime I run the W98SE MS boot disk, it installs a Virtual RamDrive in the next available folder. It is a nuisance for me in getting ready to install the OS, Can I just delete Ramdrive.exe (IIRC) from the boot disk, or how to modify

Thanks to everyone (especially Charlie R) who responded. I tried glee's procedure in part, there was no "Quick Logon" in mine. It didn't work. I used the link (see below) presented to me by Charlie R. What really fixed my problem, I unchecked "Log On To Network". WOW! ...
