I'm running DirectX 6 on a Win98(se) system with a 3DFX Voodoo3 2000
cards and older drivers..
I want to upgrade both the Voodoo drivers and my version of DirectX.
I'm considering using either the last approved 3DFX driver, which works

For unknown reason, my Win98 PC just dont recognised some 1G and 2G USB
flash drive. So I tried ordered the brand name that has been worked ok.
Unluckily it does not help. I have a Toshiba 2G that is working fine. So I
ordered that same model. Unforturately, the newly bought USB ...

Now I have another problem, when I shut downmy window, it will display a
message "window is shutting down" but it will stay there forever. How can I

How do I get MS to re-authenticate my original Windows XP OS on a computer
that needed a new mobo and hardrive? The hardrive had to be formatted and the
Os reloaded.

Hi all, recently after I do formatting and reinstall back win98se I cant
detect my modem. Thinking that the present modem is faulty I bought another

When you Click the right mouse button while holding Alt down, you normaly
get a menu with "Open With.." in it.
Now I find that all I get is a quick flash of a menu, and then it's gone.

Often I get an error saying Internet explorer caused a general protection
error in user.exe. Microsoft knowledge base does not help. What is the cause
of this problem?

Since in myC.P>Add/Remove program, there is no entry of "nternet Explorer",
and there is a Internet Explorer folder in c:\Program Files\, can I just
delete the Internet Explorer folder and re-install it. Appreciate if someone
can assist to resolve the "Page cannot displayed"  ...

I have a client who has an old dell pc, with windows 98. He has
currently just purchase a cd rw drive.
His problem is that Nero software will only work with writeable cds and
not rewritable, which he needs.

I put Adaware on my elderly neighbours windows 98 but he has informed me as
from January it wont be available or free, not sure. We found it a good
spyware program.  Does any one know of another good spyware program for
windows 98 that is free.   We did have spybot but that didnt ...
