I know that "Ontrack" puts out data recovery software (that comes with a
price naturally). Their  "free" download only identifies recoverable files,
it won't restore them.  Does anyone know where I can get a full-function
(identifies and restores)program "free" ?  I realize this ...

My computer immediately loads into Registry Checker and freezes when it
gets to 100% and also says that it is "Rebuilding System Registry".  I
can boot into safe mode but how do I get out of this problem.

i have a windows 98 o.s, and on my hard disk there are 2 partitions..
c:\ and d:\ , on the drive d:\ i hide some folders, but now i am not
able to unhide these files...

When I bought by Dell laptop it came with a subscription to McAfee.
Presently I am trying to download the Google Pack, and it was unable to
install Norton until I uninstalled all the McAfee.  I thought I had,
and the only one left says I can't uninstall it until I remove all
