The test results below are on my normal DUN telephone line, that is being used for this message, on a different computer. I had to install a different modem in a old Dell, no DUN history on this computer..

This computer runs Windows ME, but this is a very active newsgroup so hopefully there will be an answer here. I run it about once a week, Last time, nothing abnormal happened, shutdown normally.

I am running out of ideas, have trawled thru microsoft troubleshooting issues. After resuming from Stanby mode I get an Explorer caused a general protection fault in module USER.EXE at 000f:0000610 register EAX = etc etc.

A guy in tech support has told me that you only get one shot at installing a USB device in Win98 SE. If Windows doesn't find the expected driver at that time, it will never accept the driver and Windows itself will need to be reinstalled before another try can be made. Is this ...

I have a Windows98SE machine with two 20 gig hard drives -- "C" as master and "D" as slave. I have recently used Karen's replicator (http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp) to make their contents identical in order to protect me in the event of a drive failure.
