Time Error25 Feb 2007 14:33 GMT2
The Tray Time comes up in error after booting up. This occurs after the
computer has been off say 6 or 7 hours. No AC Power is applied to the
computer during off time. After reseting to the correct time and rebooting
it always comes up ok.  Seems I read someplace this might indicate ...

I have various Windows GUI schemes for this computer saved and listed in the
Properties selection of the desktop context menu (under Appearance). I want
to transfer them to a friend's computer running Windows 2000. Is there a

Unofficial Time Zones Update (Testers wanted)24 Feb 2007 18:29 GMT70
OK, I think it's mostly finished. All I need are a few guinea pigs, web page
proofers, etc. The files I am offering work for ALL legacy Windows systems,
95 through 2000 (XP and 2003 are the only ones MS provides updates for, and
the info is already in Vista.)
Difficulty posting24 Feb 2007 18:03 GMT5
Last night I tried to post here but it never got through. Perhaps it was a
higher power saving me from myself, which in a just world would happen more
often, but in case it wasn't, I'm wondering what the problem could be, since
the Sent box and the Deleted box were empty (the usual ...
Share Drive in Win98 MS-DOS Mode24 Feb 2007 12:06 GMT17
I read that share.exe was eliminated from Win98 because of compatibility
issues. Has anyone been able to share a drive on a network from "MS-DOS Mode"
(the exit to dos window) ? If so how ?
cable modem setup23 Feb 2007 17:47 GMT5
Did a clean install of Windows 98se. Hooked up an internet cable modem.
When I hit the internet explorer icon, I get the MSN internet access setup
and I go through steps but it never finds or shakes hands with the modem.
All these steps are for telephone modems.  The computer shows ...

As "cquirke (MVP Windows shell/user)" suggested, this is a new thread on
this machine.
A reference post on this:

USB 2.0 Hard Disk Enclosures23 Feb 2007 00:19 GMT1
This note mainly for PCR (finally in its own thread):
If you do decide to get the Vantec NexStar USB 2.0 Hard Disk Enclosure, PCR,
just be very careful when you take it apart and put it back into its case
with the hard drive, as some of the comments have said (on the Amazon site
McAfee Won't Update Beyond 4.0.493922 Feb 2007 22:01 GMT26
On about 1/18/2007, I updated McAfee's definitions to... 4.0.4939.
Can that be the last I'll ever get? Ever since then, I just get the
message that I'm fully up-to-date!
Windows 98 se resets itself on startup22 Feb 2007 21:10 GMT3
When i turn on my computer normally, it restarts when it has finished
loading. I have been told that it might be a power problem but as it happens
at the same point each time, and it works in other modes (safe mode, MS-DOS,
etc.), i thought that it might be the auto reset feature ...

Over the years I saved about 5 different versions of Tweakui,
I just installed one in my new W98SE installation and it is very limited in
features.
What is the best version to use in W98SE and a URL?

I've been having a constant problem getting my computer to start up
properly - when its the first boot of the day. Basically it stalls. Usually
this will be just after the windows 98 'welcome' screen has shown itself. At
this point my restart button no longer functions. I have to ...
