I'm going to post this here too because I think this problem is a bit unique
and eclectic, and maybe some guru in here knows what's going on.
Has anyone else noted this weird and annoying TIF problem, due to some
apparent corruption of the index.dat file after visiting some web ...

My computer's a Pentium III with 512mb RAM, running Win98SE.
The other day I bought a used CD writer (LGCD-RW CED-8080B) and was
advised to just replace my CD ROM with it, rather than have both of
them installed.

I have installed a D-Link DWL-G520 wireless card in my PC running windows
98SE on an AMD K6 pc. I have a D-link DI-624 router. I have no problems
connecting to the router with my Windows XP laptop, but cannot even get the
98 PC tt find the network. I can connect with the laptop ...

I read here that load power profile IS required to run Win98SE but I have
disable them in msconfig, to get a leaner system, without problem. I didn't
have my monitor set to turn off or have a screen saver running anyway to
avoid interferences with other sound programs.

I have a older toshiba 700mhz laptop with ME.
I tried to run windows update on it. The first time, i selected all
update. It got almost to the end of install, then hung.
The second time, i left out the IE update. did 12G or so download,

My computer started to act wierd, and it was my operating system, Windows
98. I had a Rescue CD, and it worked, but I clicked the wrong thing. I did
"Restore Files" instead of "Rebuild Computer". I clicked "Rebuild Computer".

I just did a clean install of Windows 98 SE on someone's Compaq. I
installed IE 6 and then went after the updates. I think there was 17. They
installed, I rebooted, and then decided to go back and make sure that was
all and also to get DirectX 9. I was greeted with this!

I haven't been on a Windows 98 PC in a long time.  I have a client who
purchased
new hardware with XP Professional.  Is there a migration tool that
will help me

Tried to install an external mini drive but got an error message :
"A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:FF02EF93 in VXD USBD(01)+00000113"
and computer will freeze. Any advise. Thanks

RoBear lately?  We need an insider to tell them that they broke Win98
access on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 3:17:02 PM when they changed

my computer is a win 98se.. it is really slow... pages take forever to load...

Im having the baove problem after reinstalling Win98. Ive tried
rstarting in safe, removing driversd and restarting in normal, ive

my puter crashed a while back avery since we redid it i get a message every
tiime on the same sites over and over again that says the security
certificate.... has expired or not valid. I have hit install repeatedly and
it said install complete... but been gettin messages for 2 ...

I have come into possession of a 64MB PC100 DRAM.  My computer currently has
128MB PC133 DRAM.  Running W98SE.
Can I run both DRAMS at 100MZ without damaging anything?  If I can't will I
see a performance boost or degradation by setting the bus to 100MZ and
