Looking for PCMCIA Wireless G that works with Win 98 (Not Win 98 SE)25 Aug 2007 15:14 GMT1
Hello all,  I'm glad I found a group focusing on win 98!
I have an old laptop that still runs great, but it has win 98 and no
ethernet connection.  I would rather buy a wireless card than a hard
wire card for the PCMCIA slot, but can't seem to find one that says it

I also posted this to MS News server, hope it's ok to cross post.
I have an old AOpen AX6BC motherboard. Per AOpens advise, I tried to install
BIOS update so the system would recognize the larger drive I added to the
system.

Okay, I have decided to do a clean install of 98SE.  I have XP Professional
installed on the D: drive and 98SE is on the C: drive.  I have seen the
following web page on the Internet but I don't want to risk messing up the XP
Pro. install in any way if possible.

When I use the search feature in IE 6, I am most of the time re directed to
some other search page, and it is not the page I opened from my search.
The correct page will be there for a second or 2, but then I am re directed
to a different search.
98SE and XP Professional Stability23 Aug 2007 21:14 GMT14
I thank PCR and my friend Jeff for all of their help in getting me back on
firm ground again with a clean install of 98SE and an over-install of XP
Professional.  The surprising thing was that at the end XP Professional was
becoming more unstable than 98SE.  Yes, XP Professional ...

I have an old computer with Win98 installed and a new computer with WinXP

afraid of allowing the Win98 to access the internet, since it doesn't have
automatic update from Microsoft, so it may have ...

More Network Password Issues22 Aug 2007 13:38 GMT18
Greetings!  I'm posting this after reading the thread started 07/21/07, and
not having any success with those suggestions.  I have several old Win98
machines which used to be networked.  Now they're stand-alones, but they keep
asking for the username and password.  If I type in ...

I have a computer at work and it is fully patched through Windows Update but

Is there any patch that requires to be downloaded and installed?
