I can't play embedded media files through Firefox. Microsoft have a plugin but it is only compatible with Vista and XP. Is there a way round this?

My daughter has a computer that runs Windows 98SE. We started it the other day and all we got on the monitor was a box right in the center that says "Out of Range" V: (numbers) and H: (numbers) and then it asks if the PC perameters are correct.
