I updated my ISA 36.6 modem to a PCI 56.6 Best Data 56HP92-PCT But, when I try to use it I get a message that states my applications can't communicate with it. I can't even use any of the "AT" commands

When using NetMeeting, I can be seen and heard by the person I am talking with. However, I can only see the person and can not hear them. Have tried everything without success.

After someone worked on my computer, now everytime windows 98 boots up, it stops at Start Up Menu screen ( where you can choose Normal, Safe Mode, Step by Step etc). Now that things are working well, how do I boot up normally without seeing this screen.
