Is there available any guide on the sequence of applying updates?  I'm
looking to reinstall WIN98SE and have downloaded the critical updates; but
I'm confused as to the sequence of applying the 65 or so updates files.

I downloaded a yenc decoder, used it, got the file, but what do I use to
play the file?? windows media player, or an mpeg player, ???thanks.

In trying to connect to the internet through a wireless network. My old Win
98 laptop has begun having IP problems. I tried running IP config to renew my
IP address but the IP config box appears briefly and then disappears. Anyone
know how to solve this?

Been using OE for a long time without problems to export and read my
yahoo mail, but recently OE has begun changing my yahoo account settings
so it will not work.  I can change them back to the correct ones, it
works ok for a while and then OE changes the settings again.  The

I just over-intalled the IE6 sp1 (version 6.0.2800.1106) to fix some
problems. After the installation, I went to Window Update Website to see if
there are any Critical Update.It showed that two update for me: Security
Updates, March 7,2002 and Cum. Security Update for outlook ...

I was trying to register the shell 32 dll using the regsvr32 shell32.dll
command and it returns the following message :
DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of shell32.dll
may be in memory consider using pview to detect and remove it .

From what I understand, support for Win98 is ending very soon.  I have to
reformat my Win98SE system but don't think I'll get it done before the
support is cancelled.  If possible, after formatting it, I'd like to at least
download all of the updates that have been posted up ...

My inbox is over 300MB and I want to move 90% off the C drive to another

I have a small HD that is running out of space and I need to regain some
disk space. Can I simply delete the contents of the following C:\Windows

Win98SE absolutely refuses to detect internal modems.
I tried nearly 12 different ones (I'm volunteering at a computer recycling
nonprofit. There is no shortage of modem cards)
I've tried installing different drivers.
