last time i tried windows update after scanning my pc and selecting some
patches iclicked download now , but the download dialog came up blank and
did not download anything, other syntoms include some links that open other

In task scheduler the auto critical update task is still running. Will this
cause anyone concern as it pings [forever...+1]. And thinking of that, is it
true that bill Hates every 1.

When I turn my computer on I get a pop-up box which say, " error starting
this program" the toPexamoll file is linked to missing export mfc4zdll6467.  
When I click the OK button the box disappears.  Then I double click peoplepc
and the box reappears.  It says, the BartShelEXE ...

My LAN has 2 DHCP and one to connect WAN.
Yet sometimes my Win98SE got the local IP mistakenly from the other DHCP so
that the PC could not connect Internet anymore.
Does anybody know how to refresh such old local IP without deleting the

When checking my email off line, I open O.E. and I’m asked if I want to work
off line. I confirm yes and the when O.E. starts to open an error message
appears (error message - ox8oocccod), basic message states that it could not
locate the host server.

Every day I get one or two e-mails sent to me with strange charaters as the
file names such as thick vertical lines , upside down and back to front

I subscribe to a number of Newsgroups. However, I don't need all of them to
be continually updated. In other words I would like to keep the individual

the folder for future reference but not have to keep ...

Upon doing a quick scroll-down using my Logitech mouse (with the scroll wheel
in the middle), all of a sudden the print size on the web site I was visiting
got tiny.  Ever since, every web site I visit has tiny print (font) size.
How to remedy?

I cannot access email links in web pages. I get the message "the default
mail client is not properly installed". Otherwise our e-mail, through
Outlook Express is ok.

I have to reformat my hard drive & reinstall Win 98 SE. Since the updates are
no longer available  on-line, is there a way to extract the updates from my
PC before doing the format so I can reinstall them after the reformat?

We have a small three computer network. My son was having big problems
