My sound was working fine but then i reinstalled windows
and the sound is gone nothing vanished. Ive tried all
diffrent drivers, even moving my sound card to a diffrent
slot and nothing. My speckers pop and you can hear static

I had to reinstall windows on my daughter's win98SE
machine.  After reinstall, I have no sound or volume
control.  You can hear the speakers "pop" reight before
Windows loads, but then they go silent.  Reinstalling the

My jpg. files are gone and in their place is a VBScript
script file, whatever that is.  I try to open up one of
these files and nothing opens.  What have I done?

DVD/CDROM was unplugged to add other HDD, when HDD removed
and DVD reinstalled, WIN 98 SE doesn't even find that it
is connected.  Add hardware wizard doesn't find anything
either.  DVD is Toshiba SD M1202.  No other CD ROM access

I have recently lost sound on my computer. The speakers

I just installed Windows Media 9.1.  It will not play
audio CD's  - get G0xC00D1197 Condition ID = 0x00000000,
"can't play file."  If I point directly to the .cda file
on drive E:, it says it can't find it. Ideas please?

Every time I try to play music on WMP 9 when some other
program is running, the music skips (like a broken record)
and it's getting really annoying.  Like I click on my

There is no sound with Windows 98 on one removable hard
drive and volume control will not install. When I log off
and remove the drive and substitute another hard drive and
log on, the sound works perfectly. Hence it is not a

Hi!  I recently lost sound on my pc.  Cannot play any
audio tracks- get an error message MMSYSTEM032- format
cannot be translated or supported.  Use the capabilites
function to view supported formats.  Can anyone help??
