I have been receiving notice that there is a problem with
Windows Media Player.  This happens when I try to watch a
program. The program tries to connect but I am receiving
the message "technical problems - temporary".  This has

I have a problem with volume control, playback, and
soundrecorder. I can not access these three things. In
playback and sound recorder all of it is grayed out. But, I
can still play cd's. Could someone tell me how to fix the

Win98 start and misc wav sounds are not present about
80% of the boots. Control panel sounds give an error
indicating the files may be corrupted. Third party players
work fine however, and I can play CDs and mp3s. The KB

I lost sound on my computer.
The speaker sound icon dissappeared.
When I click star/programs/accessories/entertainment/CD
player.... I can play CD.

I have no sound device to be found anywhere in my
computer.  Or at least I can't find one.
I went to the control panel, multimedia and audio.  
Nothing is listed.

WHEN PLAYING MP3 MUSIC FILES, THE MUSIC SEEMS TO PLAY MUCH
TOO LOUDLY IN THE FOREGROUND AND THE VOCALS ARE DIMINISHED
AND OF LITTLE VOLUME. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT THE
PROBLEM MIGHT BE?

driver.  How can I reinstall?

Bios will not select CD ROM. Bios set to auto and cables
have been changed. What else can I do??

I was updating win98 but didn't finish the process, now I
have no sound. When I click on Volume Control under
Accessories, then Entertainment nothing happens. The box
where it says show on taskbar also can't be checked.

After a few installs & uninstalls of WMP 7.1, a small
window still appears when I try to open the options format
tab that says "Registry Error" (with no error code #).
Close the error window and the tab opens with no file

I recently downloaded WMP9.  I run the setup and it
installs.. and it runs alright. but when i restart my
computer it freezes with the little sand glass thing, and
i have to ctrl alt dlt and it says its not responding, and
