I'm running win 98SE, and I have just installed an intel Pro S 10/100 NIC, in
order to use a Netgear DG834 to connect to DSL. However, the NIC is showing
its IP as 0.0.0.0, and as such I can't connect to the Netgear (which should

Scenario
--------
Assume 2 win98 PCs are connected by a crossover cable (category 5E) via a
network card on each.

I have set up my desktop(Win 98SE) to network with my laptop (Win XP)
and can transfer files okay via shared directory in the W98SE.
Ping works okay.
The W98SE has the IP 192.168.0.1, 255.255.255.0.

IN a workgroup env, i have a windows 98 machine, and a windows xp machine. As
im configuring W98 machine to enable remote wmi connections, i need to set

I setup a new WinXP Pro in Peer to Peer network with Win98,
WinXP Clients can access the share folder on Win98 with password control,
but Win98 Clients can access all the share folder on WinXP Pro without any
