My Win98 (Second Edition) machine has worked with my DSL modem for years,
now suddenly it stopped working. I cannot get any Internet connectivity.

Recently networked two 98se and 1 XP system.
Here's the problem and not sure if networking is problem or not but no one
else, in other newsgroups(office, word.newusers), seems to know.
I have two HP722c printers. One connected to the XP and one to a 98se
NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loaders Err Code 228 Jul 2005 14:00 GMT2
While trying to install a 3Com Etherlink 10/100 PCI NIC (3C905-TX) on Win 98
the adapter device drivers do not install and have the following error:
"The NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loaders for this device could not load the

i'm working on an AMD-450 with win98se that lost it's network ability.
(using a standard 3c905 net card)
IE cannot connect to anything...nor can i ping anything...
to make sure all the HW was OK...i did a clean install of win98se

First machine with Win98:
1) I have printer HP LaserJet III, attached to a machine having Win98.
2) I have enabled "Printer and File Sharing" on Win98 machine.

Hello from a "newbie":
This past weekend I setup an in home two station network.  My home/office
machine runs XP; the wife's desktop runs 98se.  The two machines are
hardwired via Cat5e cable to a D-link router which is connected to a DSL

I have set up a network with 4 PCs, they are all connected to a switch, also
on the switch I have an ADSL modem for the internet. On 3 PCs I have Windows
XP running and I had no problems setting up the ADSL internet on those PCs,
