Cant ping gateway with desktop configured with win9818 Jun 2007 09:16 GMT1
I took a new broadband internet connection. I can ping to gateway with
my laptop configured with winxp. but I cant ping to the gateway with a
desktop configured with win 98. so cant browse on my desktop.
The ethernet card has no problem. It was the working card i took from

I recently installed Telus High Speed (DSL).  Our secondary machine
gets a working network connection on booting, every time, but within
about 15 minutes it fails.  This is a Compaq 7AP190, 2000 vintage,
Win98SE, wired connection to ethernet port, single processor at 1GHz,

Have an XP home based network using linksys router printer is connected to
this computer and there is a shared transfer folder. 2 other computers are
connected to the network router using ethernet (hardwire):
