I muddled up wireless broadband access to my home network and have not yet restored it. Network merely links upstairs PC (XP) to downstairs PC (Win98SE) with router and wireless modem, thus out to Internet.

I have a laptop set up for networking and although I no longer need the network connection, I still have to Log on to the network. Can anyone please tell me how to safely remove the Network facility from my laptop.

I have 8 pc's ethernet'd in house via Cat5 and a hub. As I live in rural area and there's only dialup available, one of the pcs runs a proxy server that most of the others use to connect to the internet. That way, wife, daughters and myself can all surf at same time, albeit slowly.
