i've heard that windows can 'bloat' itself through use.  
if that's true, what files can i delete in the
c\windows\temp dir, w/out messin up my computer?
is it ok to delete ALL the files to save space?

i have tried everything including closing allprograms and
attempting to defrag and my computer is still telling me
that something i running.  if there is anything i can do
to figure out whats running or stop this problem

i am running under Win98, system resources are below 50%,
as if something is running in background while i have
doubled RAM to 256MB. When I installed McAfee virus scan
the cursor sticks the computer clock stops which is

Had downloaded a program X1.  Didn't like it and wanted to delete it.
However, there was no uninstall for it.  So I went about deleting everything
that seemed to be associated with it.  This was about a week ago.  Now on
opening my computer, I get the following message on a MSDOS ...

I have Win 98se for a year now and find that it
is "stumbling" alot.  Doesn't connect to internet cleanly,
won't bring up pages, Netscape won't work online, etc.

a RAM size of 256Mb to improve performance, I have hear
or read that it have to be 2 times ram size and you put

My grandson brought his 133 MHZ IBM Thinkpad and it is loaded with Win 98
SE. It boots fine in Safe Mode , but after I leave Safe Mode and re-start,

shut down the system, the screen would darken for a
moment, (as though shutting down), and the Windows-98 page

I am running under Win98 and it is becoming very slow, the
cursor sticks and it seems that something is always
running in the background, I can hear the computer
working.  Any ideas?

I am trying to change the appearance of my computer from
640 x 480 and 16 colours to 800 x 600 and 16bit colour.
When i do this the computer restarts but doesn't load up
again.

SO far I have tried installing 3 different kind of USB Irda adapter
from 3 different manufacturers indifferent hardware PCs all windows
98se upgraded to laterst microsoft.
All the 3 Irda USB isntallationg behave differently.

I have had my Windows 98 computer for a year and have
scanned and defraged a number of times.  Now, I cannot get
either one to start.  What on earth is going on?  Help!
