Would someone please tell me how to prevent my desktop icons
from auto arranging.  I don't have Auto Arrange checked.
I have to run IconManager every time I start my PC to reset
them.  This has just recently started.

when i try to run defrag it tells me to run scandisk
first. when i try to run scandisk it freezes system. i
have done all the available updates. anyone have an
answer? thanks in advance

Last week I posted a message describing problems I was
experiencing after installing 1GB of RAM on my Win98SE
system. The PC would frequently lock up with no keyboard
or mouse response and the display would just freeze,

I think I lost my first message so here I go again. when
trying to run scandisk, it goes about half way through  
(on Fiolders) then File allocation tables flashes on and
the whole thing starts over. I have tried closing programs

I get frequent frozen screens. Control alt delete doesn't
work - nothing responds. I use Word a lot if that's any
clue. The only thing left is to switch it off which of
course is not good for the system

i have a laptop which is the Dell inspiration 3800, i am
on windows 98 every time i shut down the machine it hangs
up on the windows shutting down screen,i have to switch
the power off every time, when started up next time to use

Frequently gets blue screen and following message:
"Explorer caused a general protection fault in module
GDI.EXE at 0005.00002a3c"
Any idea why and what can be done about it?

Continuously my pc keeps booting in safe mode only and
will not change. I followed directions for the fix the
windows site gives about changing the bootsafe in mysdos
file but I have nothing that says bootsafe and cannot fix
