WHEN WORKING ONLINE OR EVEN OFF I GET AN EXCEPTION ERROR

Hi, I am looking for some help... think I may have a
virus or something... when booting up, 'in safe mode' I
get a msg. that scandisk encountered a data error while

My wife has a Content Advisor error on her computer. She
cannot get on the internet for any reason. Not even e-mail.
The Content Advisor wants a password and there has never
been one set (that I know of). I have all the error

Hello all, if this is not the forum, please let me know. I need to find
out if I can re-install 98SE over itself.
When booting up, I see there are a few errors noted like 'highmem line 4
is missing' and something on one line or another is corrupt or missing.

When starting up the computer, everything appears normal
until the desktop starts to display.  The logon window for
my home network appears properly.  After providing the

Recently, I am experiencing problems running scandisk and
defrag. The programs start, get to about 1% and then go
back to 0%. I have disbaled the firewall before starting,
