Okay All.
Just some additional info on the issue I originally
posted.....I am working on a friends machine running 98
with 256 RAM and everytime you attempt to do anything such

Help.  My system (HP Pavilion 8660C)
Windows 98 SE, 128mb RAM keeps locking up. I have
defraged, scanned with Norton, went into msconfig and
disabled most everything from startup, including AV and

 I have always had this problem for I don't know how
long.  Basically the system just hangs in the windows
shutting down screen whenever it tries to reboot.  It is

All of a sudden my cookies will not enable when attempting
to apply for a job position on Monsters.Com. I was told by
the microsoft web site that it is adsubtract. When I went
to programs add/remove it was not there so it must be

When I start up my IBM thinkpad running windows 98, at the
desktop I get a warning box that
states "C:\WINDOWS\IEDLL.EXE file appears corrupt.
Reinstall the file and then try again"

Hello. My computer started making strange noises. I
noticed it, when I started computer, and when I checked
hard drive (c:) space used/free in system tools. It sounds
like if disks are spinning but some are not in place

when i go to turn on my computer, it states that there is
a data error and that it can't read drive c. i need help

I'm running Win98SE and have a problem. Every time I try
to reboot after completing a download or to restart my
computer after changing settings, ScanDisk runs after
pressing reboot. It displays that Windows was not shut

When I run Defrag, the disk makes lots of noise, but it
never gets past 0% defrag and it never shows any "details"
as to what is happening in the files.  I have let it run
for more than an hour.  The disk keeps making noise like

For as long as I can remember, my Windows 98 program has
always had a huge amount of programs running at one time.
Most would open at start-up and I would have no idea as to
their function.  "Systray", "gsmview"...
