i have windows 98 and recently when i have been defragging
it defrags52% then stops for a while and starts again at
84% without defragging inbetween.   i close all other
programmes that are running before i start to defrag ..

When I play the internet game "Bookworm", my computer will
just shut down and restart after awhile. Sometimes I
get, "This program has performed an illegal operation,
then I got dictfail has occurred. Then it shuts down. How

I don't know where this message went so I am reentering it.
My defrag gives an error message.  It says it cannot find
win87em.dll so it cannot initialize.  I did a search on my
computer and on the win98se CD.  I cannot locate the file.

I'm running Windows 98 and have a PIII 866 computer but
windows detects it as a PII with mmx.and it's running like
a PII system.is there any way to get windows to detect the

my C drive's performance was very low. One of the

Hi:  In the past, often, my puter said that I shut
    down improperly even though I didn't. Not a big
    problem as only took 20-30 seconds for the C

I am borrowing my son's computer (which means I don't know
the history of it's use).  The cut and paste functions are
not available.  It is not visible in the tool bar and the
control c and control p shortcuts don't work either.

I have Symantec Norton sytem runing and it show the CPU
runing at 100% This is slowing down everything and I cant
run some programs to run. I need suggestions on to to
identify what is running  and taking up all the cpu.

There is an error box which says rulaunch (with the
microsoft logo on the side) has performed an illegal
operation. It didnt used to come on, and now it does -
dont know whats changed if anything. Now every time I go

I need to install new fonts.  However, the "install new
fonts" option does not appear under "FILE".  Any ideas?
