I uninstalled my anti-virus to make way for a new one. I had uninstall all the registry keys with it but when I start up windows it's telling me SYMEVNT.386 is there, apparently won't delete this file and windows says

I loaded win 98 on an old pentium 1 laptop with 32m ram and the system is running slow. The sound specially is delaying and seems like it is paging to the disk, is there a way to force o.s to keep sound files in ram or increase

My RAM was at 128 and the system was slowing down. I had 50% available resources. I cleaned out a lot of start up items and got the resources up to 65%, but the system was still slow. I installed additional RAM of 256.

Running W98 2nd Edition. When booting the system up, we can only get the wallpaper. When using control/alt/delete it indicates that there is NOTHING running. Have tried booting up in SAFE MODE with no luck.

A friend told me that if you have too much in your start up and things running in your taskbar, that defrag and scandisk won't run correctly. If this is true, then can someone help me weed out what I really don't need to run

Several of our Windows 98 SE machines will reboot while in use. There doesn't seem to be any obvious reason for this to occur and of course, all data is lost. Some of the machines with this problem will do this sooner than others.

I am having a problem with the resources on my computer and it tells me that ny performances is at 51 percent. I then check my system and it tells me that I am at 62 MB RAM.
