My windows 98 is going slower and slower. It all has
started just a couple of days before, when I downloaded
the last update available on windowsupdate website. It is
going so slow that it looks like I am been working on a

How do find out what are necessary programs in the startup
items list ,in system configuration utility??
System seems like it takes a long time to boot.

This really most seem petty, but...
I tried a higher screen resolution for a few days and decided to change it
back to 800 x 600. Everything looks okay, but now I have a little shortcut
icon (a little computer monitor) to display Properties window sitting on my

The following message is played when ever we startup the
computer and whenever we attempt to open a wordpad
document that is emailed to us.
"This program has performed an illegal operation"

can't find the file 'ms.info.exe' (or one of its

and that all required libraries are available.

I try to run Norton and get a message saying "Cannot find
PROGRAM.exe.  This is needed to run files of the type URL".
I also get this same message at other times as well as
those referring to NOTEPAD.exe.

I need help.  Microsoft Word wouldn't work.  I received
an "illegal operation" error.  I tried to reinstall.  Now
I still have the original problem plus an IEDLL error now.
Any suggetions?

Why am I unable to run disk defrag?  It starts over and
over and over but is unable to complete.

A new VERSION is now available. Just click on the 'check for updates' button
and you will see. Click OK and you will be taken to the download site. They
said you can either uninstall the old version first or just install over the
old version.

Hi. Shortly after I updated all my drivers, etc. (Using
the Microsoft update page), during an internet session my
computer froze up. When I rebooted, I was taken into Safe
Mode, with no option to get out. I tried all the fixes on

I am having trouble with Disk Degrag.  I have tried
repeatedly and it only goes to 10? complete.  It just
hangs there, so after several hours I have been stopping
it.  I do not get any error message-it just doesn't go any

My Disk Defragmenter says there is an error on Drive C.
When I use Scan Disk to correct it I get the following
message even though there are no other programs ruunning
at the time: "Scan Disk has restarted 10 times because
