Is there any advantage or need to update the BIOS on a PC? Presently I am using a Dell Optiplex Gx240. W98/Se OS. pentium 4 - 2.0Ghz, 640Mb Ram, 40 Gig HDD. The Bios is A02 . I've been told that the most recent Bios revision is A05. Is there a reason to do this revision? If it is ...

When I turn my computer on the Windows 98 screen appears (with no icons). The screen then goes into the windows wall paper with no icons. If I hit F8 during start up, I can get into the Safe Mode. But once agaion, no icons.

A couple of day ago we turned on the trusty Compaq 5441 desktop with Windows 98 and found Windows would not boot up. After the Compaq logo screen, it gives about two seconds of the Windows cloud screen and then goes to DOS
