I have just started experiencing a failure code 0016 on startup.  Occurs when it starts to load fonts.  Goes into safe mode.  On restart no problem.  Anyone with similar experience or others have fix or suggestions?  Will appreciate inputs.

When I go to reboot my computer it frezes up on the shut
down screen. I saw a patch for this but coudln't download
it at the time, can someone help me?

why soes windows 98 freeze up when i am either working
with msn messenger or even notepad or what ever what do we

Since I cleaned the swen.a virus, my win 98b system does
not work anymore: It starts up allright, but it is not
possible anymore to start any *.exe application; error
message is: unable to find imgl.exe. I can not find this

Looking for opinions about using the Defrag.exe (Ver. 4.90.3000 vs
4.70.1998) file from Windows ME in Windows 98SE.  It seems to be quit a bit

I had to recently 'wipe' my Compaq 98SE computer and re-
install the OEM and then 98SE disks.  Since that time, and
I've gone to the UPDATE site and downloaded all the 98
packages, my computer will not shutdown unless I

 Defrag stops without completing.

systems resources. It says I have only 44% free resources.
I was told this should be at least 90%. how do I increase

I downloaded Sourceforge's  DC++ (v0.261), a C++ direct connect protocol
client. When I run DCPlusPlus.exe, a message pops up that says my Common
Controls need to be updated. The program's tool buttons don't display
properly and the settings dialog won't open. I use Win 98 original ...

I have a program running in the background titled "ptsnoop"
I ran a search for this file and came up with 5 copies of
it.  I clicked on delete, four files were deleted but the
5th one could not be deleted because Windows was using it.
