how can I control what applications open when I turn on my
computer?  I think there are to many applications opening
and it is draining my system resources

On some of my programs new and old I can;t open! I keep
getting a "illeagle opperation this program will be shut
down.Why? I have been trying to look for a fix, but cant
sem to find it.

Well I wasn't sure where to post this, but here it goes.
I have Win 98 running on a 900 Mhz HP with 384 meg of
mem.  I have over 12 gig free on my HD.
With all the visuses running around, I have run online

I'm using Win98, internet browser IE. PC no virus.
My PC always down and then there's a blue screen appears,

A new problem that has me foxed!
1) sometimes, part way through a session, the Task Bar has
started to freeze.. not even the 'START' button works, nor
do any of the icons or minimised application buttons - but

When you are typing everything freezes up and says you
have performed an illegal operation and goes back to the
desk top this is very frustrating because it won't save
your work and you have to start from scratch again

When I have to restart the computer (not shut it down) it
goes to the point where it looks like it is going to
restart and then the screen goes black and freezes. Then
you have to start it manually. Any ideas?

My computer always freezes up? I loaded windows ME but it

I turn the Cable modem off when not in use. When I try to
get online, the computer does not respond.I get a message-
msqsrv32 not responding.I must reboot each time.

When my pc has started up - all programs that i open have
strated to become very jerky (when i play music cd's the
sound stutters). I have recently put more ram into my pc
but still hasnt helped.
