I start win98 with 79% of resources. I have 512MB or ram and 1 ghz AMD
processor.
I have only a few necessary programs opened at start: mouse, Norton, system

I did a complete scandisk on my laptop. Everything was fine. Trying to
Defrag, the window comes up and I select the C drive and OK. It says its
defragging, but it never starts. The percent defragged is always 0%?
What else can I do?

I have a computer that has no floppy drive and when I go
to the performance in the device manager it says drive A &
B are using MS-DOS.  I don't have a drive A or B.  How do
I get rid of this and free up my resources?

Has anyone had any problems with a Qttask error in 98 that
locks up the pc and requires a reboot to clear? Any help

when ever the desk or the computer is 'lightly bumped',
also happens when the mouse is moved a little.

A fatal exception 06 has occurred at 0000:00000002. The

After losing the ability to preview jpg and gif files etc I got the fix from
http://www.dougknox.com/ but it has left me not able to open the .gif file
although I can open a .jpg file in IE6!? Can someone please guide me to a

Everytime I am asked to reboot after an update or I have shut down my computer, it reboots saying that windows was shut down improperly. I have to scan disk then it wants to go into a detailed scan. I let it take all night doing just that, after about the dozenth time it tried. ...

the openong page is slow to appear and everything else
that follows seems to be slower than usual. I don't have
a virus--- I checked first. What can I do to make it work
like new? M<y computer is just 7 months old.
