I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN I START UP MY WINDOWS 98 2
ED., THE SUPPORT PROF SAID TO POST IT ON LINE. THE ERROR
IS: A DLL FILE IS MISSING PSAP.DLL
CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHAT THIS IS.

When I start my computer it sits on the Manuafcturers
screen for ari=ound 10 minutes then it starts up fine. It
runs fine. What is the problem?

Well, this may not be about Windows. I have a computer
that restarts itself after starting up. Here's how: I
start the machine it loads drivers and I get my desktop it
loads the startup programs I have on it and after it loads

Every four or five minutes my internet connection seems to
pause for nearly a minute and then resumes and works fine
for a few more moments. This is so frequent that it is
getting very annoying. I'm running windows 98 SE, usb dsl

If the computer sets idle for a time period....the time
period is random.....the entire unit locks up from the
cursor to the keyb to the clock.  Ctrl-Alt-D does nothing.
any ideas what can be causing?  I am not running any type

I go from 91% after a clean boot to now running 71% just
browsing the web. running norton , ad-aware, spybot all
updated and current, scan disk and defrags and the thing
just keeps on slowing down. Any help would be appreciated.

When I try to run Defrag, it gets to 1% or 2% and then
goes back to O repeatedly. I've tried shutting down or
closing any possible programs, i.e. VirusScan, QuickTime,
Winzip, you name it.

sorry about the two questions.
First, for some reason, whenever I hit the "control" key,
Windows Media Player automatically opens.  It's pretty
annoying and I'm not sure how to stop it from happening.

My jpg files have been turned into VBScript script files.  
I can't open these files and all my pictures iv'e
downloaded from my camera are gone.  Can I get them back

when ever I start the disc defragmenter it only shows 1-2
% complete. I'll leave my system on all night and it still
shows only 1-2% complete. I make sure I'm not running any
other programs when running defrag. I even have it

I'm missing 4 meg of memory on my Win98 machine. When I go into bios setup
it shows that I have 32 meg but clicking on the My Computer icon, and
properties menu show that I only have 28. What happened to the other 4 meg?
This is a real problem. I have a program that is failing ...

RECENTLY WHEN I TRY TO DEFRAG THE SYSTEM IT WILL GO UP TO
ABOUT 13% AND THEN REVERT TO START.  IS THERE SOMETHING I
AM DOING WRONG.  HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED BEFORE?  WHAT DO
YOU SUGGEST I TRY?
