I bought some extra RAM for my family computer, but the
computer does not seem to recognize it.  I thought I
bought exactly what was already in the computer.  When I
start the computer it lists 512m SRAM, but if you go

I received the following error when attempting to start
Windows 98:
A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:00000608.  The
current application will be terminated.

Just recently the programme closes down and goes to
restart when I am in the middle of a task or programme.
Most annoying as I lose what I was doing and have to start
over - and then it happens again!

My computer has decided to behave very strangely!  
Sometimes it will spontaneously reboot, my 0 on the keypad
and mute button send it into system standby.

Having lots of problems with my computer everything is
freezing on me. I go on the icon my computer and nothing
comes up and on internet explorer too, have to press
ALT,CTRL,DELETE to get out of the program.Cannot go on

The issue I am experiencing is slow loading, hanging and
lockup.
To enhance performance, techs have told me to increase
system resources and upgrade memory. My system resources

Drop down boxes will 'drop down' only after several
seconds (15 to 20!) wait time.  This occurs in Windows,
and Office.  I have Windows 98 SE and Office 97.  For
example, when I want to open a file in Word 97,I either

When I try to defrag or scandisc within Windows 98 the
system loops. In the defrag it gives a message 'drive's
contents changed:restarting'. This process can carry on
for hours.

Everytime I am online, I end up with an error that reads
wdmaud.drv 1:00000013 and then freezes up then crashes.

I've just switched from WIN 95 to WIN 98SE, but it keeps crashing by
itself, even when I'm offline or when there isn't any "heavy"
application running... the pointer get stuck, it doesn't respond even

On logging into winME, (I couldnt find a ms board for it,
so I came to the 98 one) I geta  dos box appearing with
IEproxy above it, and in the box "insufficient momory"
This problem is intermittant.

I recently uninstalled Slim Browser which, since downloading three weeks
earlier, had caused me a lot of trouble. Now, whenever I click on a web
address in an e-mail, a message informs me that: "Windows cannot find
SBROWSER.EXE. This program is needed for opening files of type
