I attempted to run a backup of my system, which then
somehow caused a problem with my current registry.  I
performed scanreg /restore & got an error "registry

After using Safe Mode, now every time I attempt to boot
up,the "Microsoft Startup Menu" appears and I have to
select "Normal Startup" in order to proceed.

i have an ibm 300pl with windows 98.  i went to start it
up after the weekend, and it got hung up right before the
windows screen.  it says pxe=mo4 initializing network boot
device using interrupt 18h.

Friend of mine  wants to sign up to a adsl package, modem is usb type.
His machine is a P233 64 mb ram running Win98 SE but no usb ports, are
there any foreseeable problem with his setup and fitting a PCI usb
card to the above machine. Will it get recognised ?

I'm having persistent problems with a "Spool 32": Illegal
Operation Freeze Up on my Windows 98 sart up. It totally
shuts down my computer and I'm not able to get to the
Start Menu and must turn the computer off manually.

When I first start up my computer it runs fine.  But after
a while, maybe 30-60 minutes, it greatly slows down.  I
suspect some sort of program is running in the background
but I don't know what or how to find it.

I've tried deleting the win386.swp file in DOS, but when
the system re-starts, it keeps coming back......

I have Windows 98 and it is locking up after varying times
of usage. It locks while using any program, Internet,
solataire, etc. The problem has gotten to a point that I
am unable to use my computer. I have had problems with it
