Could someone please tell me where to find the work around
to get 98SE to recognise a full Gig. of memory. I keep
getting the message that there is not enough memory to run
my programs. I know there is a work around but cannot seem

My computer is runing at 7% free of the system resources.
I'm not doing anything especial, internet, word, excel.
How could I know what processes are using the resources?

I run win98 second ed.  No viruses as per my Norton
Professional Virus program.  Problem is the computer
freezes up time and time again.  Doesn't matter what
program I'm in....all the same.  Will freeze anytime,

Recently, my computer started to hangs whenever I left it
untouch for a few minutes. When the computer is being used
it is performing normal or sometimes it appear slow
respond.

I've added memory up to limit of my PC Gateway Essential
550 (which will take 384 max in SDRam 128 meg cards). How
do I get the computer to recognize this added memory? - no
add shows up in properties, or is it automatically

I upgraded afriends computer from 95 to 98SE, and it was
working fine then I turned it on and it came up Operating
System not Found...I cannot type anything in cause it just
keeps rolling saying the same thing whenever I try to type

When I run scandisk (thorough) I get message telling me
the hard disk is being written, and scandisk just keeps
repeating with fixing problem areas I am certain exist. I
have both ME and XP home edition, I was not happy with

When I try to run scandisk or defrag. the program stops

I recently de-junked my grandmother's win98se machine (and by
"de-junked" i mean "got rid of all the apps and games she doesn't ever
use like 'kodak picturemaker' and 'sid meier's alpha centauri" etc)

I reinstalled Windows 98 because I had too much junk on
the drive.  The computer runs like a top except for one
problem.  I have NO sound whatsoever.  I tried downloading
Windows Media Player, then tried again to no avail.  I did

I have to re-install my windows98 on my laptop.I have the
start-up disk n the cd-rom for it. It wont format the c
drive and tells me i need to make a MS-DOS boot partition.

Anytime I try to defrag or scandisk my hard drive, after
about 6 to 10% complete, the programme restarts and begins
scanning or defragging again.  This will happen
continuously never actuall getting passed 10%.

Help! I bought a reconditioned computer a few months ago
from a computer store. I had problems right away and took
it back in, they put in more memory. It has 288 mb ram.
